چکیده
Alkali is a problematic component in biomass and may create various operation issues normal combustion as well chemical looping using fuels (bio-CLC). To investigate the interaction of alkali with an oxygen carrier, methodology has been developed where salts are added impregnated charcoal particles. This work studies effect K2CO3 Na2CO3 on fluidization/agglomeration behavior reactivity braunite manganese ore carrier K Na batch fluidized bed reactor. Charcoal (K-charcoal) (Na-charcoal) were used solid reduction step simulated CLC cycles. CH4 syngas (50% CO + 50% H2) periodically to evaluate before after fuel experiments. In total, more than 50 cycles performed for both K-charcoal series Na-charcoal tests, while some additional non-impregnated conducted considered reference. Partial agglomeration partial defluidization found Na-charcoal, use tends lead agglomeration/defluidization faster Na-charcoal. K, Na, Si, Ca at higher concentration surface agglomerated particles can be assumed responsible agglomeration. The happened likely result melting particles, whereas formation low-melting-point Na–Si–Ca system could was increase during charcoals. masses 0.8 1.2% bed, around 40 80% found, respectively, Although accumulation observed presence these alkalis, scarcely changed comparison fresh sample.

Syngas combustion in a 500 Wth Chemical-Looping Combustion system using an impregnated Cu-based oxygen carrier
Chemical-Looping Combustion (CLC) is an emerging technology for CO2 capture because separation of this gas from the other flue gas components is inherently to the process and thus no energy is expended for the separation. For its use with coal as fuel in power plants, a process integrated by coal gasification and CLC would have important advantages for CO2 capture. This paper presents the combu...

Chemical-looping technology is one of the promising CO2 capture technologies. It generates a CO2 enriched flue gas, which will greatly benefit CO2 capture, utilization or sequestration. Both chemical-looping combustion (CLC) and chemical-looping gasification (CLG) have the potential to be used to generate power, chemicals, and liquid fuels. Chemical-looping is an oxygen transporting process usi...

متن کاملChemical looping combustion process in fixed - bed reactors using ilmenite as oxygen carrier
A process scheme based on a series of fixed-bed reactors is presented as a possible alternative for carrying out the chemical looping combustion of methane at high pressure with ilmenite as oxygen carrier. The oxygen carrier is stationary and it is alternately exposed to reducing and oxidizing atmospheres by means of the periodic switching of the gas feeds (i.e., methane and air, respectively)....
